As an executive/senior level recruiter with decades of national experience, I have been part of hundreds of executive interviews in a wide range of fields and positions. Using that experience, I work face-to-face with clients who live in Portland and “virtually” with clients from all over the world.
We’ll Work Together to Ace Your Senior Level Interview
We begin with a complimentary phone conversation to see if we’re a good fit for each other. During our first session, we’ll discuss your background:
- What are your strengths?
- What are your weaknesses?
- What are your career aspirations?
I’ll review your resume and LinkedIn to ensure these pieces of your job search materials are of the highest caliber. We will then review your history of interviewing. You might not have received the offers you deserved due to unknown mistakes you made during the interview. How you present yourself is key--whether in-person, virtually (over Skype, Hangouts, etc), or on the phone.
If this first session reveals you need help beyond the interview, we’ll review the full Executive Job Search program, which includes resume and cover letter critique, LinkedIn presence, references, email style...as well as interview preparation. In addition, my full program includes several introductions to business leaders in my network.
Videotaping Your Practice Interview
We’ll take an in-depth look at your interviewing style through a series of video sessions where I will take the role of the company interviewer. Based on my years as an executive recruiter, I know the hidden things companies are really looking for:
- What does the company want from you?
- How will you fit with that company’s culture?
- What is your unique contribution?
I analyze each interview and go over what’s working and what isn’t. We’ll examine the difference between how you see yourself and how an interviewer sees you. I’ll coach you on more effective answers and a presentation style to improve your message.
You’ll get a copy of each video, including written and verbal feedback for your review. As an added benefit, polishing your interview presence will boost your approach and confidence when networking in the C-suite with executives.
Negotiating Your Compensation
When you are offered the job, you may not be aware of the strategies you can use to maximize all aspects of your executive/senior level package, such as flexibility, opportunities for growth, work-life balance and extra perks. Depending on your priorities and what we’ve learned about the organization’s culture, we’ll customize your negotiation strategy. Once again, I’ll use my experience as a recruiter to help you pinpoint the timing, language and nuances involved in these sensitive and strategic conversations.
